Those who are new to guitar will not always know what is best to start with when it comes to first learning, and all too often, they end up going for the guitar that is the coolest, often resulting in it becoming more difficult than it should be.

If you were to recommend either acoustic guitar or electric guitar to a beginner, which one would you recommend and why?

Acoustics will toughen your hands (a positive thing), but besides that, it seems to not matter. Well, acoustic is more for folk and country, if you're into that.
