If you play guitar, you will know just how often you can go through guitar strings, especially if you play guitar a lot or even if you tighten the strings too tightly when tuning your guitar and they snap.
How often do you change your guitar strings? Why do you change them this often?
It really depends on how often you play and the kind of sound you’re aiming for. If I’m playing regularly, I usually change strings every 2–4 weeks because they start to lose brightness and feel less responsive. For lighter or casual playing, they can last a few months, but tone and tuning stability slowly degrade. Heavy players or those who gig often tend to change them much more frequently. It’s also worth changing them immediately if they start feeling rough, rusty, or difficult to keep in tune.
